Inbound tour operator Europe Incoming is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Managing Director, Uma Somia said, “Our company started back in 1978 as a small incoming tour operator specialising in student tours. London was the only destination. The clients were mainly Scandinavian, German and French.
“When I started in 1986, the company was still a small business and there were only a handful of staff. I’m proud to say that since then we’ve included destinations across Europe and we’re servicing clients from all over the world from multiple offices.”
Executive Director, Dylan Lall adds, “We’ve always been strong in the leisure segment and in 2009 we started working also with MICE movements. Leisure is still a large part of our business, but we now also handle around 10,000 MICE passengers per year.”
The company has also introduced FITBOOKINGS.COM which is an online portal for agents dealing with FITs. Director Staffan Nillson explains, “Europe Incoming is well known for dealing with groups. Many clients have asked us to also handle their FITs which we’ve been doing now for a few years, and this is a fast-growing portion of our business.”
The Directors continue, “The main success factors are strong customer and supplier relationships as well as a strong product and competitive rates. As we grow there is also a need to employ great people to be able to continue to deliver great customer service and grow the business at the same time. Here’s to another 40 years!”
