On 7 March Bicester Village welcomed the Colour Walk, and with it launched the Village’s Spring Fever campaign, which is inspired by Maryam Eisler’s Voices East London and celebrates the artists and designers of this growing creative hub.
Moving from London Marylebone to Bicester Village and led by East End art doyenne Sue Kreitzman, the Colour Walk was joined by several notable creatives including artist Mei-Hui Liu, French fashion designer Anne-Sophie Cochevelou, shoe designer Natacha Morro and celebrity stylist Daniel Lismore.
The walk also featured a joyous parade of colourfully dressed designers, artists and members of the public. Afterwards, guests were given a crepe-paper bloom, designed by Karen Hsu of the Pom Pom Factory as a memento of the event.
Local press and influencers were also invited to Bicester Village and they participated in the walk before enjoying lunch at Farmshop Restaurant and Cafe. This was followed by a panel talk East Meets West, mediated by arts writer Farah Nayeri and featured several artists and designers from Voices of East London.
The Colour Walk illustrated Bicester Village’s ongoing commitment to providing a unique and memorable experience for its nearly 7 million annual guests. For art lovers there is more to come: from 23 April guests can browse the new Designer Artists Concept Store, featuring limited edition works from the artists who are establishing East London’s place on the creative culture map.
