Sustainable Tourism
UKinbound is committed to championing sustainable tourism and ensuring that the UK’s world-class tourism offering can be enjoyed for generations to come. Sustainable tourism practices aim to reduce the negative impacts of tourism activities on people, places and the planet whilst increasing its benefits, by:
- Protecting natural environments and resources when managing and developing tourism activities
- Providing authentic experiences that celebrate and conserve heritage and culture
- Creating socio-economic benefits for communities through tourism activities
Concern for the environment and promoting a broader sustainability agenda are a key part of UKinbound’s professional activities and the management of the organisation. We aim to follow and champion good sustainability practices, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help our members do the same. This is why we are a signatory to the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism which commits us to a publicly available action plan and annual impact report.
