Visitors can now enjoy an open-top bus tour of the quintessentially British and Royal town of Windsor for a culturally rich hop-on hop-off experience with The Original Tour.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has some milestones to celebrate in 2018 with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to to marry at St. George’s Chapel on 19 May, and Princess Eugenie marrying Jack Brooksbank on 12 October. To celebrate this exciting time, The Original Tour has launched a new open-top bus tour to help visitors discover the rich history, heritage and beauty of the town.

Sights include the iconic Windsor Castle, which sits at the heart of the picturesque town and has been a home to British Kings and Queens for over 1,000 years. Visitors can step off the bus to admire the palace grounds and if they’re lucky, may even catch a glimpse of the Queen.

The tour will pass by the renowned Eton College, whose famous alumni includes 19 British Prime Ministers, various members of the Royal Family including Princes William and Harry, and famous actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Laurie, and Tom Hiddleston.

Visitors can stop off and enjoy the Changing of the Guard ceremony which takes place every other day, as Windsor High Street comes to life with a traditional parade. For those who have worked up an appetite, the Windsor Farm Shop is the best place to stop for local products – many of which are from the Royal Farms themselves.

In addition, those looking to appreciate the beautiful Windsor from a second perspective can package their tour with a French Brothers 40-minute boat cruise. This on-water experience cruises down the river Thames, offering passengers stunning views of the traditional English countryside, as well as the Castle from a unique vantage point.

The tour is available in 11 languages including French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese, and will run hourly during February, March, and November, and half-hourly between April and October.
