We are delighted to invite buyer members to our Discover Destination North East England event, in partnership with Destination North East.
Upon arrival on 28 April, buyers will take part in a two-day familiarisation visit in North East England to experience some of the highlights of this beautiful part of England, and get a taste of the travel trade friendly products on offer. North East England is a region characterised by its diverse landscapes, ranging from picturesque coastal areas to vibrant urban centres, encompassing several locations such as Durham, Northumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne.
A B2B workshop will take place on 30 April between UKinbound buyers and North East suppliers, offering a unique networking opportunity and a chance to take part in a series of pre-scheduled, one-to-one meetings.

PROGRAMME:*
28 April
Arrive into Newcastle train station where you will be greeted by a member of the Destination North East England team who will escort you to your hotel, The Crowne Plaza Stephenson Quarter Hotel.
In the afternoon, take you will be taken on a walking highlight tour of Newcastle and Gateshead, including the vibrant quayside famous for its bridges, bars and restaurants. It’s a must-visit area to wander and take in all the sites. Arrive at Tipple in the Tunnel – join Hotel du Vin’s, Head Sommelier at the hotel bar for a glass of arrival bubbles, before you head into the Victorian Tunnel for a wine tasting session. Learn about the tunnels history and hear some great stories, before starting the wine tasting within the Tunnel.

29 April
Venture into County Durham to explore the market town of Bishop Auckland. The Auckland Project offers a unique collection of attractions, galleries, historic parkland and gardens centred around the stunning Auckland Castle. Immerse yourself in the Spanish Golden Age at the Spanish Gallery – the UK’s first gallery dedicated to the art, history and culture of Spain. View an intimate display of industrial art at the Mining Art Gallery. Get a bird’s-eye view over the town at Auckland Tower, or lose yourself in the 17th century Walled Garden and ancient Deer Park. And don’t miss The Faith Museum – a brand new museum which opened in October 2023 and is the first museum in England dedicated to experiences and expressions of faith spanning 6,000 years.
Travel to the Beamish, The Living Museum of the North – the world famous open air museum that creates and tells the story of life in the North East, from the 1820s to the 1950s. All set in 350 beautiful acres and which has provided the location and perfectbackdrop for the filming of Downton Abbey and where lunch will be provided.
Travel along the central section of Hadrian’s Wall where you will arrive at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing key attractions and then stop off at The Twice Brewed Observatory and Planetarium which is a dark recovery site, an officially recognised place for star gazing for a quick look at what is on offer, before heading next door to The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre, it’s the perfect place to start exploring Northumberland National Park and the landscape, history, culture and heritage of Northumberland.
Enjoy a Networking dinner at Blackfriars Restaurant, located in Newcastle is a former 13th-century refectory and the oldest dining room in the UK.
30 April
UKinbound will run a half-day workshop offering pre-scheduled B2B meetings, and a networking lunch which will provide the opportunity to develop business relationships with North East based suppliers.
