UKinbound has celebrated the achievements of UK tourism businesses, organisations and individuals at its Awards for Excellence ceremony on Thursday 26 September.
15 awards were presented in front of over 320 travel and tourism professionals at the association’s 2024 Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, which took place at Liverpool Cathedral.
Following self-nomination, the winners were decided by a panel of independent judges from across the tourism industry – Kay Greenway, director, Cruise Britain; Richard Toomer, executive director of the Tourism Alliance; and Professor Iis Tussyadiah, dean, Surrey Business School, University of Surrey.
The winners were:
- Tour Operator / DMC of the Year – Angela Shanley Associates
- Online Reseller of the Year – Virgin Experience Days
- Accommodation Provider of the Year – Strand Palace
- Individual Attraction of the Year – ABBA Voyage
- Destination of the Year – VisitAberdeenshire
- Sightseeing Operator of the Year – Evan Evans Tours
- Professional Service Provider of the Year – Hospitality Line
- Restaurant / Retailer of the Year – Lomond Leisure Group
- Ticketing Provider of the Year – Trafalgar Tickets
- Transport Provider of the Year – Uber Boat by Thames Clippers
- Technology Provider of the Year – Vox Group
- Sustainable Tourism Provider of the Year – Blenheim Palace
- Young Excellence Award – Lucas Flanagan, Manchester City Football Club
- Chair’s Award – Chris Ball, Verdi Hotels
- Members’ Choice Award – Kelly Strong, Strong Recruitment

The Awards for Excellence were presented during the association’s Annual Convention which took place at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Wednesday 25 September and Liverpool Football Club on Thursday 26 September.
The event featured an influential line-up of speakers including a keynote address from Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, an update from VisitBritain and insights from Dr James Kennell from the University of Surrey.
