Third Hybrid Vessel joins Uber Boat by Thames Clippers fleet

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers recently launched Mars Clipper, a brand-new hybrid high-speed passenger ferry. This event marked the completion of the fleet’s trio of hybrid vessels – Mars Clipper, Earth Clipper, and Celestial Clipper – bringing more sustainable travel options to Londoners and visitors than ever.

The hybrid vessels, built at the Isle of Wight’s Wight Shipyard, reduce CO2 emissions by almost 90% compared to traditional marine diesel journeys. They operate on electric power in Central London and recharge using biofueled power outside this zone, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

With Mars Clipper now operating on the Thames, the fleet’s capacity has increased by nearly 700 passengers, enabling more people to commute or explore London’s sights comfortably. This launch reflects the company’s ambitious goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.
