Langdale Chase has recently marked its first anniversary since reopening, celebrating a year of achievements and its dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Over the past year, Langdale Chase has earned various accolades, reflecting its focus on luxury, service, and guest satisfaction. The hotel secured the number three spot in The Times and The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Places to Stay in the UK, received a coveted AA 5-star rating, and two AA Rosettes for its culinary offerings at The Dining Room. It also joined the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, establishing itself among the top boutique hotels globally.
Over 1,500 Swallows and Amazons-inspired Afternoon Tea servings have been enjoyed since its launch in May. This success led to the launch of a new Festive Afternoon Tea, with the original Swallows and Amazons-inspired tea set to return in the New Year. The festive offering includes a variety of seasonal treats such as turkey, cranberry and chestnut stuffing sandwiches, smoked salmon and beetroot, pigs in blankets, potted shrimps, and seasonal sweets like pistachio and almond Christmas tree, fig and plum bauble, almond and orange Yule log, and a Christmas pudding choux bun.
The hotel also offers the Flavours of The Lakes package, which includes a two-night stay with breakfast, a fine-dining dinner inspired by local cuisine, and the Swallows and Amazons Afternoon Tea. Langdale Chase, built initially as a private residence in 1890 and converted into a hotel in 1937, underwent a restoration in 2023 to preserve its original features while incorporating contemporary design.
The hotel’s Grade II listed gardens, created by landscape architect Thomas Mawson, are being reimagined, with guided tours available. The hotel also offers various amenities, including dog-friendly rooms, a two AA Rosette restaurant, a cinema room, and outdoor activities such as e-bike safaris and paddle boarding. The hotel continues its mission to offer exceptional hospitality in one of the most scenic locations in the Lake District.
