The View from The Shard has announced the return of The Slide, an exhilarating 360° Virtual Reality experience created by leading content and technology production studio, Happy Finish. Back by popular demand and, for a limited time only, visitors to London’s highest attraction will be able to enjoy the thrill of The Slide travelling at up to 100mph down and around the iconic building. The Slide had been redesigned with a brand new fabrication and utilises the latest VR technology to deliver an even more realistic journey.
The Slide invites visitors to sit on a specially designed seat that moves in tandem with what the participant sees through their headset, simulating the experience of an ultimate helter-skelter ride which starts 800ft above the city.
Chris Mines, General Manager at The View from The Shard said, “We are always looking for new initiatives that will appeal to our guests and enhance their visit to London’s tallest viewing gallery. The Slide has proven extremely popular in the past and we are delighted it is returning – the latest technology will give guests a terrifyingly real immersive experience.
Happy Finish CEO, Daniel Cheetham commented, “Having our immersive ride experience back on Level 72 is really exciting for us, we are so pleased it is back in the context it was designed for. Although it’s been 2 years since it first went live, the experience we created is still a standout VR project. With it now running on the Oculus Rift S headset at higher fidelity, we look forward to hearing more screams from excited guests of The View from The Shard. Watch out for more adrenaline-pumping updates to come soon!”
Tickets are available at the venue at a cost of £12 per person and must be used in conjunction with an admission ticket for the attraction. For further information please visit The View from The Shard or Happy Finish.
