The British Airways i360 viewing tower in Brighton welcomed its one millionth guest on 11 March.
Sue Waghorn, and her husband Philip, were met by General Manager Ian Hart and presented with British Airways flights to a European destination of their choice. Sue also received four annual passes for British Airways i360, a magnum of Nyetimber English sparkling wine and a meal at onsite restaurant West Beach Bar & Kitchen.
The couple from Greenwich, London enjoyed a pod ‘flight’ on the day and were visiting Brighton for a long weekend as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
Sue Waghorn said, “I am over the moon to be the one millionth guest on British Airways i360! We’ve had a fantastic time here today and can’t believe we’ve won all these amazing prizes.
“It’s a beautiful attraction and something you must do if you’re visiting Brighton. We’re looking forward to using our i360 annual passes, and also to booking a European break with British Airways.”
General Manager Ian Hart said, “Welcoming our one millionth guest today is a meaningful landmark and a huge achievement for our team. I would like to thank every single one of them, along with our sponsor British Airways for providing flights to Europe to mark the occasion.
“Thanks also go to our one million guests, who have made us the most visited paid attraction in the city. They’ve watched the sun set into the sea, abseiled from the pod, dined and taken yoga classes in the sky, and we are looking forward to making the next one million visits just as exciting.”
Since opening in August 2016, British Airways i360 has also won 20 awards, created over 100 local Living Wage jobs, spearheaded the regeneration of the West Beach area and raised Brighton’s profile among domestic and international visitors.
