Business Services International UK, specialists in travel between the UK and former CIS, has launched British Tourism Days – a series of networking events for travel agents – in partnership with VisitBritain and other industry partners.
Over 150 leading travel agents from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kiev took part in British Tourism Days at the end of July. The project launched at the Residence of the UK Ambassador in Moscow on 24 July, followed by business breakfasts in Saint Petersburg and Kiev. The project was supported by British Airways, Corinthia, Dorchester and Red Carnation Hotels, Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter, as well as LAL Language Centres and Oxford International Language Schools.
Focusing on the premium market, British Tourism Days offered travel agents the opportunity to meet UK service providers in person and find out about the latest trends and seasonal offers. Business Services International UK and VisitBritain also presented new tourism products and travel itineraries, which included rail travel in the UK, gastronomic tours in London and Scotland, and exclusive experiences such as a tour around Cawdor Castle hosted by the Countess Cawdor and a visit to Princess Olga Romanov’s estate in Kent, hosted by the Princess herself.
Elena Shmakova, Director of Business Services International UK, said, “The interest in British Tourism Days from both our UK partners and travel agents is a positive sign for the market. Next year we plan to present new travel products and attract more partners. We aim to make British Tourism Days an annual tradition and a significant event for our market.”
Tatiana Khoreshok, Country Manager for Russia & Eastern Europe at VisitBritain, said, “We are delighted to support British Tourism Days and are confident that this initiative will have a positive effect on product development and strengthening the ties between tourism businesses in our countries. We are grateful to our partner Business Service International UK for all their efforts in promoting the UK as a tourism destination.”
