Vintage Trains has announced the return of The Cathedrals Express, offering passengers an unforgettable journey through the East Midlands to the historic cathedral city of Lincoln. The trip, scheduled for 12 October, allows travellers to experience the excitement and nostalgia of steam locomotive travel from the golden age of rail, all while seated in vintage carriages.
Departing from Birmingham New Street, The Cathedrals Express will travel across the Midlands, with additional pickups from multiple East Midlands stations. As the train thunders towards Lincoln, passengers can enjoy the region’s scenic beauty.
To enhance the experience, passengers can enjoy Pullman dining, which includes a Full English Breakfast and a four-course dinner, or opt for First Class service featuring a bacon roll, pastries, and an afternoon tea.
Upon arrival in Lincoln, travellers will have several hours to explore the city’s rich heritage and historic landmarks. There is plenty to discover, whether it’s shopping, strolling through charming streets, or tackling the iconic Steep Hill leading to Lincoln’s Castle and Cathedral.
