China Travel Outbound has launched a new suite of marketing products and services for tourist attractions, destination marketing organisations, hotels, retailers and travel brands to deliver opportunities to reach Chinese students studying in the UK.
Chinese students make up the largest proportion of all international students to the UK, with around 120,000 opting to study at British universities in 2019. Research shows that this group have a high desire to travel around the UK during their time here, and their disposable incomes are around four times that of the average British student, making this an important target group for the British tourism industry.
China Travel Outbound has also built a new relationship with the Chinese Students and Scholars Association UK (CSSAUK) which is the largest Chinese association in the UK with 190,000 members, leading to opportunities for China Travel Outbound clients to partner with the association and reach their members through events, social media and other online platforms.
Chinese New Year is the biggest date in the calendar and, due to COVID-19 restrictions, CSSAUK will be live streaming their annual gala event this year. A range of sponsorship opportunities are available and all campaign management will be provided by China Travel Outbound’s UK office. Sponsorship packages start at £1,250 plus VAT.
The event will be held this year on 2 February and bookings are now open. Other opportunities to reach Chinese students include working with UK-based Chinese Key Opinion Leaders, and distribution of brand and promotional messages via WeChat, Weibo, Mafengwo, C Trip and Qunar. China Travel Outbound has a specialist research division with direct access to a bank of Chinese students who can provide valuable insight into the demographics, consumer behaviour, concerns and aspirations of this segment of prospective visitors.
