Visit Cornwall’s Tourism Summit returned to Truro on 15 & 16 January 2025, bringing together 400 attendees. The two-day event provided a platform for professionals from Cornwall’s tourism sector to exchange ideas, gain insights from leading industry experts, and facilitate valuable connections.
The summit featured a range of speakers who addressed key issues and opportunities within the tourism industry. Topics covered included the path to a net-zero visitor economy, recent data and trends, government priorities for tourism, the role of AI software, and developments in the travel trade. Speakers included:
- Patricia Yates, CEO of VisitBritain / VisitEngland
- Kate Nicholls OBE, CEO of UKHospitality
- Simon Calder, Travel Journalist and Broadcaster
- Tom Chartres-Moore, Partner at Stephens Scown
- Nick Hall, Founder of Digital Tourism Think Tank
The event also featured insights from various industry experts, contributing to a programme that encouraged discussion and reflection.
As part of an effort to introduce young people to careers in tourism, students from Truro High School and Truro College were invited to explore the range of opportunities within the industry.
