Forth Boat Tours has launched a joint ticket with the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway, allowing visitors to enjoy the Firth of Forth from both land and sea by combining a Forth Boat Tours Three Bridge cruise and a trip on the Bo’ness & Kinneil railway.
The flexible Sea and Train Adventure ticket can be used from 1 April to 31 October, and trips can be taken on the same day or on separate days.
Three Bridges Cruise
Visitors can join the Three Bridges Cruise from Hawes Pier, South Queensferry and take in the spectacular views of the Three Bridges, the beautiful panoramas of the Edinburgh skyline to the south and the Kingdom of Fife to the north, the island of Inchcolm with its medieval abbey, and the islands of Inchgarvie, Inchkeith, and Inchmickery. There are also plenty of opportunities to see marine wildlife including a variety of seabirds, seals, and porpoises.
Passengers can also learn about the myths, turbulent history and the local wildlife via the guided commentary while enjoying a drink or snack from the bar. Dedicated coach parking, retail and restaurants, and customer facilities are available at the pier.
Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway Day Rover
Visitors can board the Bo’ness and Kinneal Railway at Bo’ness station – located 10 minutes from South Queensferry and under an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow – and enjoy the golden age of steam rail travel. Visitors will be taken on a 10-mile return journey to Manual along the Forth Estuary through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct.
Passengers will be welcomed on-board by friendly volunteers and invited to soak up the atmosphere of the heritage railway through the sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear.
