Lomond Leisure Group has announced plans for a full day of celebrations to mark Burns Day at the historic Tolbooth Tavern, one of Edinburgh’s oldest pubs. The event will take place on Saturday 25 January 2025, and will pay tribute to Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, through a rich programme of traditional activities and a specially curated menu.

The celebration will be held across four dining sessions at 12:00pm, 2:30pm, 5:00pm, and 8:00pm. Each session will cost £40 per person and will feature a combination of traditional Scottish rituals and cuisine.

Guests will be welcomed by the distinctive sound of the bagpipes, performed by piper Chris Norton, setting an authentic and atmospheric tone for the day. The event will include a three-course meal prepared by the tavern’s chef, featuring classic Scottish dishes crafted to celebrate the occasion.

A key part of the celebration will be the Address to the Haggis, a traditional recitation accompanied by a dram of Dalmore 12-Year-Old whisky. This ceremony, which honours the haggis as a central element of Burns Night, has long been a cherished aspect of Scottish culture.
