London Transport Museum has launched a new full day group experience at its depot in Acton, west London. This working museum store holds over 320,000 artefacts showcasing the history of the capital’s transport system, from Routemaster buses and heritage Tube trains to rare posters, station signs, models, and groundbreaking engineering equipment.

For the first time, groups of up to 40 people can enjoy a full-day itinerary featuring two guided tours.

Depot Discovery Tour (2 hours)

Explore a collection that brings the history of London’s public transport to life. Highlights include historic buses, trams, Tube cars, and rare and unusual vehicles from its horse-drawn origins. The tour also showcases pioneering engineering innovations, an extensive array of transport signs, and other artefacts that tell the story of the city’s evolving transportation system.

Art and Poster Tour (90 minutes)

Delve into the London Transport Museum’s world-class collection of transport posters and rarely seen artworks, guided by expert insight. Visitors can view original works by artists including Man Ray, Edward McKnight Kauffer, and Laura Knight up close while uncovering the story of London Transport’s poster commissioning process in the early 1900s.
