Manchester’s Aviva Studios featured in TIME magazine

TIME magazine has included Aviva Studios in its annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, which highlights 100 notable destinations and new attractions worldwide.

Aviva Studios, officially opened in October 2023, is part of Factory International and is noted for its role in Manchester’s cultural landscape. The venue has quickly gained recognition as a significant site for arts, music, and culture, featuring various events throughout the year.

TIME’s listing describes Aviva Studios as a standout addition to Manchester’s cultural scene. It highlights the venue’s architectural design by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), led by Rem Koolhaas. Aviva Studios is situated on the former Granada Studios site and is the new permanent home of the Manchester International Festival, which has been showcasing new works by prominent artists since 2007.

The opening season of Aviva Studios included performances such as ‘Free Your Mind’, a modern dance adaptation of The Matrix by Danny Boyle.
