Rosebank Distillery launches Tamdhu experience

Rosebank Distillery has launched a new experience, direct from its sister distillery, Tamdhu, in Speyside, with tickets now on sale.

Tamdhu Distillery is usually closed to visitors except during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky festival, when the doors are opened for its Malt Master event. This experience, renamed The Residency: Tamdhu, is hosted in the Rosebank Distillery Academy Room.

It offers a deep dive into the complex flavours within this single malt by nosing and tasting four single casks. Each was carefully chosen by Tamdhu’s distillery manager, Sandy McIntyre, to demonstrate the impact of Oloroso sherry wood on the maturing whisky and the diversity from one cask to the next.

Visitors will be invited to create their own one-of-a-kind expression of Tamdhu using whisky from the four casks. The bottle can then be taken home and savoured as a keepsake.

Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery Manager said, “We’re offering a unique insight into whisky production and the opportunity to create your own one-of-one. For me it’s about knowing that Tamdhu is in safe hands. The experience at Rosebank is absolutely fantastic!”

A behind-the-scenes, hands-on experience of the whisky maker’s craft is rare, and it was one of the reasons the Spirit of Speyside event was a sellout. The same high demand is expected for The Residency: Tamdhu at Rosebank.

The Residency: Tamdhu experience is offered daily at Rosebank Distillery, Camelon.
