The Silverstone Experience in Buckinghamshire is set to open on 25 October this year. The experience will take visitors on an exciting journey through the past, present and future of Silverstone and British motorsport.
The exhibition pre-show will immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of motor-racing, and offer the chance for visitors to climb into a replica 1940s Grand Prix car and see the different iconic race-winning vehicles from across the decades. In the first zone, visitors will discover how Silverstone’s famous corners got their official names from a medieval abbey and the historic Stowe house. The next zone will showcase the circuit’s roots as an RAF base and visitors will get a chance to have a go at piloting a Wellington Bomber, before exploring the Silverstone village and playing a game or two in the pub.
The exhibition also provides hands-on activities across topics, from commentating to safety and strategy, and learning how to design a world-beating racing car or bike in the Technology Lab. To end the experience, visitors will join the grid to experience the thrill of speeding around Silverstone alongside their racing heroes in an immersive show The Ultimate Lap of Silverstone, with commentary by Murray Walker.
The Experience is centrally located at the Silverstone Circuit near Towcester, with ample free coach parking onsite. Catering options for groups are available and can be packaged with entry, making Silverstone Experience an ideal destination for coach day-trip itineraries. The site is also surrounded by some popular heritage sites which could be incorporated to make an appealing short break package.
