Thames Clippers, in partnership with Knight Dragon, has purchased North Greenwich Pier. The two businesses are planning to redevelop the pier to provide an upgraded gateway to the Greenwich Peninsula to further improve the Thames Clippers River Bus customer experience. The investment in this key piece of infrastructure on the Greenwich Peninsula will help improve connectivity for those visiting, working or living in the neighbourhood.
North Greenwich Pier, one of Thames Clippers’ key stops in the east, is served by two routes, RB1 (Battersea Power Station to Woolwich (Royal Arsenal)) and the River Bus Express, the dedicated service for The O2 on event nights. The service carries visitors to The O2 and the wider Greenwich Peninsula as well as the growing number of residents and workers in the area.
The newly acquired pier will undergo refurbishment to improve the customer experience as it serves as a gateway to an increasingly vibrant area as a destination to visit and live. Along with an ever-expanding roster of shopping experiences at ICON Outlet, The O2 is also home to Mamma Mia! The Party, ABBA: Super Troupers The Exhibition, Up at The O2, over 30 bars and restaurants, London’s largest cinema, bowling and a trampoline park. Greenwich Peninsula is home to new attractions including The Tide – an exciting new riverside linear park, the first section of which opened last year – and a host of new riverside eateries and bars such as Basque, Ardoa. The highly anticipated Design District, London’s first purpose-built district for the creative community, will also open its doors later this year.
In conjunction with transporting leisure passengers for all of these activities and events, Thames Clippers offers a comfortable and efficient way to commute to and from the Capital.
