The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny has been awarded ‘Best Foodie Hotel 2025’ by The Times and The Sunday Times in recognition of its culinary offerings.

The Angel Hotel is known for its afternoon tea, which includes dainty sandwiches, buttery and savoury pastries, sweet treats, cakes, and scones served on tiered silver cake stands. It was awarded two Rosettes and a Breakfast Award by the AA and is listed in the Good Food Guide for 2024. The hotel is recognised for its use of local ingredients, welcoming atmosphere, and location at the heart of the annual Food Festival.

The Oak Room, the hotel’s restaurant, and the more relaxed Foxhunter Bar are recognised for their seasonal menus showcasing local and national produce. Over the past year, these have included menus designed around Wye Valley asparagus in the spring, lobster and shellfish throughout the summer, and cep mushrooms foraged locally in the autumn. The set Prix Fixe menu offers two courses for £25 at lunch and dinner daily (except Sunday Lunch).

We are proud to be part of Abergavenny’s vibrant food scene, and we look forward to continuing to offer outstanding dining experiences for years to come.”
