The Prince of Eygpt, the new stage musical that recently premiered at London’s Dominion Theatre, has released 100,000 new tickets, extending its limited engagement by a further 7 weeks until Saturday 31 October 2020.
The following extra matinee shows have also now been added: Tuesday 14 April, Tuesday 11 August, Tuesday 25 August and Tuesday 27 October 2020, all at 2.30pm.
Based on the DreamWorks Animation film, the musical features ten new songs written exclusively for the stage by Stephen Schwartz, together with his songs from the film including Deliver Us, All I Ever Wanted, Through Heaven’s Eyes, The Plagues and the Academy Award-winning When You Believe. The Academy Award-winning song When You Believe, recorded by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey in 1998, became a global hit. It later spent three weeks at the top of the Ireland and UK charts winner’s single after being selected for the X-Factor winner’s single in 2007.
The audience will be taken on a journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as two young men, raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
