Tiqets 2020 Remarkable Venue Awards has awarded St Paul’s Cathedral as Best Landmark Attraction and Stamford Bridge Stadium Tour as Best Attraction in the UK and Ireland. With more than 150 nominees spanning seven categories, and more than 750,000 reviews totted up, the Remarkable Venue Awards was a chance to not only celebrate the venues, but also to look forward to a more optimistic 2021.
Tiqets UK & Ireland Regional Manager, Alexis Peppis, who has also been voted in as one of the UKinbound Board of Directors commented, “What a wonderful selection of winners, it’s truly inspiring to see so many plucky underdogs come out on top this year. Despite a tough year these attractions doubled-down on ensuring their visitors were kept safe whilst enjoying themselves. We look forward to working with these innovative 5-star attractions for many years to come”
The event included a special guest appearance by travel guru Simon Calder. His keynote address, ’Culture through the Twenties’, was inspirational and brought some much-needed comedic relief ending a challenging year for the industry on a high note.
These winners were awarded for being the highest-reviewed venues in their category based on over 750,000 customer reviews on Tiqets’ website. All reviews were left by real visitors of the venues who bought their tickets through Tiqets. The full list of nominees are listed on the website here.
In addition to the above, Tiqets also introduced two new application-based awards designed to shine a spotlight on venues that have been innovative in their approach to Covid-19 and are moving the industry forward. The winners were:
- Best Hidden Gem: Forth Boat Tours, Edinburgh, Scotland
- Most Innovative Venue: Sherlock: The official live game, London, United Kingdom
In total, more than 70 venues applied for these awards. The winners of these two categories were selected by global judges, which included Antony Amos, Head of Business Development at UKinbound and Chloe Gunning, travel blogger and Visit England Ambassador.
