Visit Wales has launched a new social media campaign in celebration of St David’s Day. The nation is inviting people across the world to become Welsh for the day by doing a little gesture for people on the planet.
Gwnewch y pethau bychain — St David famously asked the people of Wales to ‘do the little things’ in life that would have a positive impact on people and our world.
The campaign aims to introduce a global audience to Welsh characters and customs and traditions — ancient and reimagined — and highlight Wales’ strong reputation as a nation of community, caring and kindness. 35 acts of Welshness will be posted in the run up to the big day, with people asked to choose one at random, or create their own, and then share it on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or Twitter.
Acts of kindness include: sharing some joy with a gift of daffodils to friends, family or total strangers, learning some Welsh, give a loved one a ‘cwtsh’ – the Welsh word for hug, trying a 21st century take on traditional clog dancing, enjoying some new Welsh music and more.
