Visit West has unveiled an exciting lineup of events set to take place in Bristol this summer.
From 2 July onwards, Bristol’s renowned science centre, We The Curious has reopened with over 200 interactive exhibits. Notable among them is ‘Project What If’, inspired by questions from Bristolians exploring themes like the science of happiness and the nature of time. Highlights include the UK’s only 3D planetarium, located on Bristol’s Harbourside.
Scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 July at The Downs, Feast On introduces Bristol’s top restaurants and chefs. Attendees can enjoy signature dishes, live cooking demos, and food sustainability talks alongside live music and family-friendly activities.
Bristol Pride Day – Free Community Event
Taking place on 13 July, Bristol Pride Day celebrates diversity with headliners like The Human League and Claire Richards from STEPS. It includes performances from local artists and community groups, part of a broader program celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
From 19 to 21 July, Bristol Harbour Festival promises a packed schedule of music, dance, circus acts, maritime displays, and on-water activities. This flagship event expects to draw over 250,000 visitors to various performance areas around the harbor.
Summer Events at Bristol Attractions
Aerospace Bristol will host ‘Look Up! The Story of Hot Air Ballooning in Bristol’ from 24 July to 1 September, showcasing Bristol’s ballooning history.
Bristol Zoo will offer Summer Lates with evening access and special performances. Cheddar Gorge has introduced “Yeo’s Journey,” a new immersive cave experience.
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
Set for 9 to 11 August at Ashton Court Estate, this fiesta features mass balloon ascents, Night Glow shows, and new attractions like an onsite restaurant by Pasture and exclusive Sky Lounge tickets for Night Glow sessions.
The Prospect Building – New Culture Space
The Prospect Building hosts cultural events, including performances by artists like Honey Dijon and Bonobo Presents: Outlier, starting from July.
Weston Wallz – Free Family-Friendly Event
Weston Wallz returns to Weston-super-Mare in summer, featuring live street art painting.
Old City Sounds – Free Family-Friendly Event
On 24 August, Old City Sounds returns with music zones across Bristol’s Old City area, offering jazz, folk, funk, and family activities.
From 26 to 29 September, Bristol Cocktail Weekend features discounted signature cocktails and food deals across the city’s bars and speakeasies.
