Visit West has announced a busy autumn of promotional activities to boost the Bath and Bristol region’s profile among international travel trade buyers. The team will engage with travel operators through a series of high-profile business events both in the UK and abroad, focusing on key markets and emerging growth regions to enhance global recognition of Bath and Bristol.
The DMO will emphasise key themes for 2025, including the Austen250 celebrations, the Women’s Rugby World Cup, and Gromit Unleashed. The team will also highlight the diverse range of attractions, tours, experiences, dining options, and accommodations available in the region.
The team’s schedule includes:
VisitBritain Australia Event
Visit West participated in networking events and one-to-one meetings with travel agents in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Australian visitors have shown significant interest in the UK, spending an average of 17 days and over £1,500 per visit. In summer 2023, Australia achieved a record for inbound visitor value.
UKinbound Annual Convention
Held in Liverpool, this key autumn event will see Visit West strengthen relationships with UK-based contacts, including DMCs. The Convention will feature networking opportunities and presentations from industry experts. Visit West is also shortlisted for two Awards for Excellence categories: Destination of the Year and Sustainable Tourism Provider of the Year.
Great West Way Marketplace
In October, Visit West will engage in a day of online meetings with official Great West Way tour operators, followed by an in-person networking event at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. The Great West Way, which includes Bath and Bristol, promotes a slower travel pace and deeper exploration of the region.
World Travel Market
In November, Visit West will share a stand with CotswoldPlus at this major annual travel event in London, which attracts over 50,000 industry professionals. This event will facilitate meetings with buyers and media from around the globe.
Destination Middle East MEA
This new event, taking place in Bengaluru, Southern India, in November, will connect travel buyers from the Middle East, Japan, China, India, and South Korea with UK destinations, attractions, and tour operators. VisitBritain forecasts that visitors from these rapidly growing markets will contribute £6.8 billion in spending in 2024. Visit West will also host a fam trip for eight luxury buyers from Bengaluru.
