VisitAberdeenshire has appointed two new recruits to strengthen the organisation as it heads into 2025.
Nikki Walters joins as Partnerships Manager, a new role to source opportunities for funding, sponsorship, and other income generation that will support the growth of the visitor economy, following 28 years at Wood in accounting and treasury roles.
Ashleigh Pirie is VisitAberdeenshire’s new Marketing Manager, focusing on delivering a digital transformation project that will include a revamped online presence and AI integration. Ashleigh joins with 13 years of experience in campaign delivery, product development and digital marketing, most recently with the energy job board Rigzone.
Chris Foy, CEO at VisitAberdeenshire said, “Nikki and Ashleigh bring a wealth of experience and transferable skills from the energy sector and will spearhead exciting new projects this year and beyond.”
VisitAberdeenshire is also part of the AI Opener for Destinations programme. This initiative brings global destinations together to explore AI as it changes the landscape of travel booking, the user experience and inspiration for consumers.
Chris Foy continued, “In order to meet our ambition to be the leading destination in Scotland, we’re joining other destination organisations from across Europe to understand how to harness the potential of AI in tourism, keeping VisitAberdeenshire at the forefront of new technologies to achieve competitive advantage.”
