Wembley Stadium Tours has launched interactive guides in German, French, Spanish, Mandarin and British Sign Language as part of a programme to make the stadium more accessible for all.
The launch of the new languages offers visitors whose first language is not English an enhanced, easy to understand interactive experience. At the same time, BSL devices and a BSL tour have been created to make Wembley as equally as accessible and enjoyable for guests with a hearing impairment. Guests can enjoy a wealth of stories, behind the scenes information, 360 degree videos and moments of augmented reality, using state of the art hand held devices provided by Imagineear.
The guides are included within the ticket price and are supplemented by a complimentary printed map, also available in multiple languages that each guest gets to keep and take home. There are plans to continually evolve the content available and to add more languages and accessibility options in the coming months.
The Wembley Stadium Tour is an exclusive behind-the scenes look at the UK’s largest sports and music venue. Taking visitors deep in to the heart if the stadium, the award-winning tour includes the Dressing Rooms, the Press Conference Room, Players’ Tunnel, Pitchside and the iconic Royal Box.
On arrival, visitors are self-guided though a highly visual journey of the history of Wembley Stadium with all its events and magic moments enhanced by immersive multimedia content. Recent additions to the Wembley Tour experience include ‘The Crossbar Exhibition’ and ‘Walk of Legends’ which display objects dating back to the Empire Exhibition of 1924 as well as the famous crossbar from the 1966 World Cup final, the Olympic flag from the 1948 Olympics and bringing things up to date with Ed Sheeran’s guitar from his 2018 sell out solo shows at the Stadium. It’s a fantastic way to see a piece of Britain’s history in a new light, whilst at the same time making new memories that will last a lifetime.
Simon Wickham, Senior Commercial Manager – Tours at the FA said, “We’re delighted to launch the new guides in partnership with Imagineear.
