VisitAberdeenshire is seeking a Business Development Executive (Travel Trade) to join the team to promote Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire through the UK and international travel trade to grow leisure business to the region.
Key activities include:
- Proactively promote the range of bookable products and experiences in the region and to the support services offered by VisitAberdeemshire to target buyers among the UK and international travel trade
- Maintaining and updating the VisitAberdeenshire product guide and other promotional assets
- Co-ordinating VisitAberdeenshire to maximising ROI
- Creating and distributing a monthly travel trade e-newsletter
- Providing regular updates to the Tourism Development Team on sales activity
- Working with the Insights and Evaluation Manager & Head of Business Development to track activity and conversions on all sales activity to demonstrate the value of VisitAberdeenshire interventions
- Identifying opportunities to grow and develop successful partnership opportunities
- Co-ordinating VisitAberdeenshire and partner presence at the annual VisitScotland Expo event
- Preparing and delivering effective familiarisation trips for targeted buyers to promote bookable products and experience with the region
- Developing strong relationships with UKinbound members
- Maintaining the CRM database to ensure all profiles and correspondence is updated
The ideal candidate will:
- Take a proactive stance to achieve set objectives with a solutions-led approach to overcome the unexpected
- Take responsibility and ownership for own performance, development and behaviour learns from success and failures and setting high expectations
- Possess strong sales and business development acumen
- Have knowledge of the Travel Trade industry
- Possess a degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline with a minimum 2-3 years’ work experience
- Have experience of working in sales and marketing environment, preferably within the events industry
- Be proactive in taking new responsibilities and seeks out opportunities to learn new skills
- Have the ability to work collaboratively and own iniative
- Be able to work out-of-office hours and spend time away from home as required
