With every meeting we have and every conversation that is exchanged, I feel more and more grateful to be part of the wonderful UKinbound community.
We are a group of varying nationalities and beliefs; varying ages and experiences; varying passions and ambitions. We are made up of owners and employees of businesses, public sector bodies, large and small, local and international.
Each one of us has a unique voice, a unique style, a unique personality and that I believe is what makes UKinbound truly special. It is these differences that when brought together makes us stronger.
We have all at some point gone through tragedies, ups and downs, professionally or personally but we have all survived and our companies and organisations are still here!
Remember the disasters in the past which we didn’t think we would come through the other side? Foot and Mouth, the Ash Cloud (who could forget that!!), 9/11, 7/7, SARS, MERS, and going further back the Gulf wars (both!), not to mention the financial crisis.
Yet there will be one common thread between all of us – we have always come out of it brighter, better and smarter.
I don’t know how to put a positive spin on the current COVID 19 epidemic. It is a moving target and even though the pace of growth in new cases is declining, the fear it has created in public minds is now haunting us and every day the news seems closer to home.
It is also a fact that many of us are seeing an impact on our clients and our companies.
I wish everyone the strength and perseverance at this challenging time. As painful, irritating and depressing some moments may seem, you also know in your hearts that this will not last and we will soon be back to planning recovery and resurgence. Life is, at times, tough.
All we need to do is to prove that we are tougher than it.
