After four and a half wonderful years at UKinbound, the time has come for me to say goodbye. I have been privileged to lead such a wonderful organisation – I could never have believed that work could be so much fun!
During my time at UKinbound, I reckon I have chalked up 19 million steps (mostly at WTM!), done nearly 50 media interviews, had 100s of meetings in Whitehall, and travelled the length and breadth of the UK with our events programme.
I have been proud too to work with such a diverse range of businesses, supporting a £25 billion industry, which is the fastest growing service sector in the UK.
Thanks to the support of you the members, and the excellent work of my lovely team and the Board of Directors, our Association is in a great place – ready for new leadership to take it to even greater heights.
I am delighted that, as I move to my new role as CEO of Visit Kent/Go To Places, I will still belong to our wonderful tourism family. I can’t deny that it will be fun to be a guest at UKinbound events rather than a host – but I promise to behave! I look forward to seeing many of you on a future dance-floor!
Thank you so much for all your support over the past few years – you have no idea how much it has meant. Thank you for the lovely emails, the drinks at the end of a busy Summer Ball or Convention, the plasters at WTM and most of all, for your unfailing support for our great Association.
The next CEO will be lucky to get you ?
